Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach in later years she discovered her when she was six. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. Then in the year 1970, she won. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was overall junior champion. In 1975 she was awarded four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as an unmounting from uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's career began in entertainment in her teens. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
