Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Early Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked in projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers for most of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton directed the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major character. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
